Montana state University school of architecture fall 2025 lecture series
I recently spoke to Montana State architecture students, faculty and interested community members on my work and that of the Detroit Collaborative Design Center, with an accompanying exhibit. The Community, Democracy & Design lecture series highlights "Meaningful Design for All" which was born out of the Civil Rights movement of the late 1960s. The 2025-2026 lecture series explores an array of voices within the community design/participatory design field.

NYC Climate week 2025
In New York this fall, I joined a collaborative panel to present shared work with Eastside Community Network on resilience hubs, resilient neighborhoods and social networks. The panel included Rebuild by Design, ONE Architecture & Urbanism, Climate Resilience Consulting, and Mantua Worldwide Community and focused on frameworks for resilience hubs. Photo by ONE.

Planet Detroit op-ed - july 8, 2025
Reflecting on experiences working with Detroiters on resilient neighborhood strategies, and in the face of funding cuts for climate-related measures, I authored an op-ed championing local know-how in climate readiness.

VENICE BIennale: AVIS-ELSMERE
Avis-Elsmere is an immensely collaborative endeavor with the Detroit Collaborative Design Center, Et al. Collaborative and Inside Southwest Detroit. This participatory design project that amplifies and holds space for cultural production and power-building in southwest Detroit was included as an exhibit in the US Pavilion at the 2025 Venice Biennale entitled PORCH: An Architecture of Generosity.
